Barney Martin is a name synonymous with hairdressing excellence. Over the past 18 years Barney has become an internationally known stylist with a reputation for producing beautiful hair and individual styles. Europe or Australia, celebrity or girl next door, Barney uses his skills and talent to make a lasting impression.

Over the past few years Barney has worked with iconic hairdresser and Global Pantene ambassador Sam McKnight in Europe for London and Milan Fashion Weeks. In London, Barney worked as part of the team responsible for the Armani show which had a cast of 95 models. In Milan, the shows included Etro, Byblos, Blumarine, Anna Molinari and D Squared. Whilst in London, Barney worked on a five day Mario Testino shoot for British Vogue, titled ‘Best of British’. He also worked with Sam on a French Vogue shoot with photographer Nick Knight. During this period he had the opportunity to work with Drew Barrymore, John Galliano, Kate Moss, Sophie Dahl, Erin O’Connor, Jasmine Guiness, Jacquetta Wheeler, Rufus Sewell, Nigella Lawson, Gordon Ramsay, Sir Paul Smith, Jeremy Irons, Jasper Conran, Philip Treacy, Lily Cole and Jodie Kidd to name a few. More recently Barney’s work can be seen across a number of leading Australian fashion titles including Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, InStyle, OK! Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Oyster, Cleo, New Woman, NW, WHO weekly, Australian Style, The Sydney Morning Herald, Russh, Channel V, Voyeur magazine, Sunday Magazine the Daily and Sunday Telegraph.

With a strong passion for his work, it’s not surprising Barney’s Australian portfolio continues to grow in number and acclaim. A regular Hair Director at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, Barney’s hair styles have also been seen on Mornings with Kerri-Anne, Sunrise and in advertising campaigns for Jetstar, Puma, Room Interiors and Jeans West. Barney has styled the locks of Claudia Karvan, Sophie Monk, Sarah Wynter, Bec Cartwright, Baz Luhrmann, Sophie Faulkner, Pia Miranda, Kristy Hinze and Antonia Kidman to name a few. However his real commitment is to his salon and clients, who take up the most part of his working week. Previously his team were finalists in five categories at the Hair Expo 2005 Hairdressing Awards - including Barney being nominated as a finalist for Australian Hairdresser of the Year.
