Makeup artist Caroline Barnes and Hair Stylist Michael Douglas show you how to do a DIY makeover.
DIY Makeover
Step-by-step
-
1. REFRESH YOUR HAIR COLOUR
'The easiest way to transform the way you look and feel is to colour your hair,' says Michael. Arm yourself with Nice n' Easy's new Colour Blend Foam. 'Pour the colour blend foam into the activator bottle and shake gently three times. Screw on the foamer cap, hold upright and squeeze the bottle to produce a stiff foam. Massage foam through hair as if you're shampooing. Leave on for 25-30 minutes or as recommended by your strand test. Wash out, and voila! Job done.'
-
2. PERFECT YOUR COMPLEXION
After moisturising put a small amount of Max Factor Xperiance Weightless Foundation on to your fingertips. 'Apply to your T-Zone as this is the area of the face that has the most imperfections,' says Caroline. Then work it outwards to the rest of your face, not forgetting your neckline. 'For something lighter for day, try Olay Total Effects Touch of Foundation.'
-
3. INSTANT SMOKY EYES
Using Max Factor Smoky Eye Effect Eyeshadow, apply the lighter shade across the entire eyelid. Then take it underneath your eye applying from the other to inner corner. 'The inside corner is where the light will hit and make eyes pop.' Using the darker shade at the tapered end of the stick, apply along the outer corner of the top and bottom eyelid. Then blend with your fingertips. Repeat on the other eye.

4. GLAM-UP YOUR LIPS
Start on your top lip first. Using Max Factor Lipfinity Lip Tint Pen, draw in your lips following your lip line. 'The nib applicator is perfect for precise application.' Then sweep across your bottom lip and fill in. 'The finish is a fashionable matte stain, but you can add a clear balm on top for evening.'
*Always do a skin allergy test 48 hours before you colour.
