But beware: this look can age you if done incorrectly. “For a modern take, do a wash of soft blue over the eyes, and just curl your lashes for a soft effect,” says makeup artist Jackie Shawn. “Black mascara with this look can appear harsh,” she adds, “so opt for a brown one.” She recommends keeping the rest of your makeup subtle, with minimal blush and a nude gloss.

Want a healthy-looking glow? A bronzer will help get you there. “It’s great for all occasions and so simple to do,” says Jackie. Avoid products with too much shimmer, and highlight areas where the sun hits: your cheeks, the bridge of your nose and your forehead.
